Past Events

Annual Albert C. Donofrio Classic

March 23rd-April 15th 2009

The 49th Annual Albert C. Donofrio concluded on Wednesday, April 15, 2009 to a packed house. The Championship Game included The Bucks County All-Stars vs. the I-3 All Stars. The I-3 All– Stars pulled away in the second half and never looked back. The final score was 105-90. Leading the way for the runner-up team was Dalton Pepper from Pennsbury High School with 45 points. Mr. Pepper will be attending West Virginia University next season. Khalif Wyatt from Norristown High School had 19 points to help the I-3 All stars win the Championship. Mr. Wyatt will be attending Temple University next season. The Donofrio tournament helps local talent be discovered, as Mr. Albert C. Donofrio always intended when he started this tournament back in 1960. He would be so proud of how this tournament has evolved. The Donofrio has always been a major fundraiser for the Fellowhsip House and with the addition of Reebok (Thanks to Mr. Tom Shirley’s contact) as our major sponsor, the last two years have been very successful. . Thanks to all who gave up their time to volunteer, especially the Board of Managers-Mark Viggiano, Jack Coll, Marie McMonagle, Tom Shirley, Peter Moore, Dayle Malantonio, Angela Hendrick, Lucius Cater, Joyce Mangum and Marty Eckert, all of you do so much already for the Fel and to give up more of your time was very much appreciated.

EASTER EGG HUNT

Saturday, April 4, 2009

No rain could stop the Easter Egg Hunt from happening at the Fel on April 11, 2009. The Easter Bunny showed up to help give out a special treat to all children who attended the hunt inside the Fel. Ages 0-10 went on a scramble to get as many eggs as they could after the whistle went off. When you do special events such as this there is always one story that makes you realize this is why you do events like this. A ten year old boy who never has been to an Easter Egg Hunt won one of the Grand Prizes for the hunt and was so over joyed that the person who brought him almost stated to cry for him because he was so happy. Also one of the employees overheard one parent comment that this was the best Easter Egg Hunt she has been to. This is why the Fel exists.

The Fellowship House Spring Fashion Show

April 22, 2009

The First Annual Spring Fashion Show was held on Wednesday, April 22, 2009. Many women and some men attended this first ever event. Cocktails and appetizers started at 6pm, followed by a wonderful sit down dinner catered by Fayette Street Grille. This was just the beginning of this fantastic evening. Before the Fashion Show started there was plenty of activity going on with 50/50, raffle tickets for the chinese auction and also a silent auction in the back corner of the activity room. The generous out pouring to help the Fel was obvious. The Fashion Show committee(Pictured directly below) headed by Marie McMonagle and Dayle Malantonio should be commended for all the work it took to put this fundraiser together. Rumor has it one of Board of Managers already has 2 tables sold for next year . I could not Thank the Board of Managers enough and especially Dayle and Marie for all the work you do to help keep the Fellowship House afloat. The Fel is still running because of the effort put forth by the Board of Managers, who most people do not know is a volunteer board. Some of us do know what you do and really do appreciate all you do. Thanks.
